The Spirit of Humanity Award was created to honor non-profit corporations that provide extraordinary assistance to Tampa Bay residents with special needs. Since April 2002, 25 organizations have been recognized for their service to the community.

To qualify for this award, the organization must have a 501 (c)(3) designation from the IRS. Each Spirit of Humanity Award winner will receive the following benefits:

• A $25,000 donation from DFF
• News release to local media announcing their award and promoting the agency
• If desired, a link to its website on the DFF website
• A celebratory SOH award event
• The Spirit of Humanity Trophy
